Someone played a mean joke on rookie defensive back Cooper DeJean during the first night of the 2024 NFL Draft.
A new behind-the-scenes draft video from G.O.A.T Farm Sports showed DeJean taking a call from who he thought was the Green Bay Packers.

At first, DeJean couldn’t help but believe whoever was on the other line. But when he asked who was speaking, he hung up a second later.
“Wow, it’s a prank, it’s a prank,” he said before the room busted out with laughter. “Some dude who said he was with the Green Bay Packers.”
Cooper didn’t go off the board until Day 2, while the Packers went with Arizona offensive lineman Jordan Morgan at No. 25 overall.
Eagles Didn’t Think They Would Get Cooper DeJean
In another video that came out following the draft, fans were able to see that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman didn’t believe they get land DeJean.
The Eagles were all-in on DeJean at the start of Day 2 of the NFL draft and already had planned to trade up to get him.
But then the Los Angeles Rams traded up with the Carolina Panthers and Roseman thought his plans were crushed.
“Ah, that’s it,” Roseman said, believing the Rams would select DeJean at No. 39.
But instead, the Rams picked defensive tackle Braden Fiske.
Roseman didn’t hold back his excitement. ‘Yes!,” he said as he got on the phone with Peters to trade up for DeJean at No. 40.

While the trade didn’t work out exactly like Roseman would have hoped, DeJean was widely projected as a first-round pick going into the draft, so he was a steal on Day 2 and an automatic win for the Birds.
“Cooper, it’s Howie Roseman brother,” Roseman said on his draft call with the Iowa standout, “You’re a f—— Eagle. Let’s go! You sat way too long.”
The Eagles kick off against the Ravens on Friday for their first preseason matchup, but unfortunately, fans will have to wait to see him in action since he is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.
