Mississippi State football had three players drafted into the NFL, but they were not the only ones taken by NFL teams.

On Monday morning, it was announced that the New York Jets were bringing in the perfect player with the ideal name: Jett Johnson. The team signed the former Mississippi State Bulldog linebacker.

New York Jets fans, as well as others, couldn’t contain their excitement as they took to the comment section and quotes to respond to Jett being a member of the Jets:

Jett Johnson graduated from Tupelo High School, signed with the Bulldogs as a three-star prospect, and went on to play for six seasons.

He finished the 2023 season with 45 solo tackles, 85 assisted tackles, six sacks and three interceptions. His 130 tackles total ranked second in the SEC, according to sportsreference.com.

In 2022, Johnson led the conference with 116 tackles.

Jett Johnson Could Become A Fan Favorite If He Makes The New York Jets Roster

Former Mississippi State Bulldogs linebacker Jett Johnson has a chance to become a fan favorite and a legend based on his name alone. The Jets have signed him as an undrafted player following the conclusion of the NFL Draft.

Johnson is a player who put up numbers during his six years at Mississippi, and there is no doubt that he could do the same thing in the pros for the Jets.
