Seattle Seahawks Safety Julian Love Contract Details Revealed

The Seattle Seahawks believe Julian Love can become a dominant NFL safety, a fixture of the secondary, and are now paying him as such on his new contract extension.

Love and the Seahawks agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth upwards of $36 million, on the heels of a stellar 2023 campaign where he produced 123 total tackles, intercepted four passes, and broke up 10 more in his first season in Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks Safety Julian Love Contract Details Revealed

Julian Love Seattle Seahawks Contract Breakdown

Here’s a look at how Love’s contract breaks down, according to Over The Cap.

“Julian Love signed a three year, $33 million contract extension with the Seahawks on July 27, 2024. Love received $18.68 million in guarantees of which $13.165 million is guaranteed at signing. The total new money guarantee is $13 million. Love received a $10.5 million signing bonus and the contract has annual per-game bonuses. The extension reduced Love’s 2024 cap number by just under $1.6 million.”

Love is now locked in through the 2027 campaign, and this season will account for just 2.49 percent of the Seahawks’ spending against the cap.

After putting pen to paper on his new deal, Love is now the 11th-highest-paid safety in the NFL.

At age 26, Seattle clearly believes that Love is just entering his prime.

The former fourth-round pick of the New York Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft, Love has produced back-to-back 100-plus tackle seasons while pulling down nine interceptions.

Seattle’s defense took major strides towards restoring its legacy as the Legion of Boom, and the Seahawks now have a core piece of the secondary secured for years to come.
