In the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Katie Ginella got the ‘Wives together for a golf outing that doubled as a fashion show. Invited guests Emily Simpson, Gina Kirschenheiter, Shannon Storms Beador, Jennifer Pedranti, Heather Dubrow, and Tamra Judge all arrived to the swanky club with exceptional style.

Katie got there first, with husband Matt acting in the role of part-caddy, part-trainer. “None of these girls play golf,” she warned the other instructors.

“We’re gonna tee them up today!” one responded.

One by one, the women made their way to the country club, each rocking a preppy-chic outfit that was also sports-appropriate. It led to a chorus of “Oh my god, you look so cute!” every time someone new walked onto the green, and we were thinking the same.

Pleated miniskirts, cropped cardigans, puffy vests, and oversized sunnies abounded. Most wore variations of black and white, though Shannon’s pink and green argyle was perfect for the occasion. While Gina’s platform loafers might not have been our first pick for athletic footwear, it didn’t stop her from playing her heart out.

The ladies came dressed to impress, but they weren’t all dying to pick up a club to complete their respective looks.

“Listen,” Heather said dryly in her interview, “I have four kids. I have done my time at mini golf.”  She went on, “I like diamonds. Champagne. Golf is not my favorite pastime, to be honest.”

Emily shared a similar sentiment. “I’m excited about the golf cart,” she shared in hers, clarifying “You know, the drinks.”

Katie, wisely, had anticipated that not all of the ‘Wives would be super passionate about learning the game. As a result, she revealed she had a pair of Prada sunglasses to offer the winner. Gina gasped, and immediately joked “I love golf!”

After a few quick lessons, it was time to get down to business. “It’s a five-hole tournament,” Matt announced, reminding the ‘Wives that in golf, “The lowest score wins.”

In Gina’s interview, she observed that most of the ‘Wives performed the way she expected them to… with the exception of Katie. “I mean, like, she sucks,” she joked, adding “She’s from the golf world. Like, doesn’t she practice this?”

“Golf is kind of our passion,” Katie admitted in her own interview, “But I’m not good at it.”

The game ultimately came down to Gina and Emily. With a final score of 11 to Gina’s 12, Emily took home the trophy. Er, sunglasses.

“I love winning,” continued Emily in the same interview. “I feel like I win in life, so why should I not win at putt-putt?”
