Tales of the Walking Dead’s Danny Ramirez cast in new movie, Pursuit of Touch

Actor Danny Ramirez is well known for his roles in Top Gun: Maverick and the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Walking Dead fans know him as Eric from the season final episode, “La Doña,” from the Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff. Deadline reports that Ramirez has secured his next role in the movie Pursuit of Touch.

Ramirez co-wrote Pursuit of Touch with Slave Play creator and Tony Award nominee, Jeremy O. Harris. He will also serve as a producer with Niv Gafny and Tom Culliver, under their Pinstripes banner with Harris and partner Josh Godfrey under their bb2 company. Currently, a director has yet to be announced for the movie.

Ramirez’s character, a reclusive Afghanistan War veteran, sets out to save his favorite cam girl when she becomes embroiled in a threatening conspiracy. The story begins as a man-on-a-mission tale but transitions into much more, a deeper look at human connection in a digital world.

Ramirez recently wrapped filming for Captain America: Brave New World, a continuation of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, where he will reprise his role as Joaquin Torres. In the new film, Torres will take up the mantel of Falcon, formerly held by his friend Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). The film is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU.

He will also join season 2 of HBO’s wildly popular The Last of Series as a character named Manny. The second season of the series is expected to release in 2025 and will be based on the 2020 game, The Last of Us Part II.

Rameriez has also appeared in Black Mirror, On My Block, The Gifted and more. In 2022, he starred with Lili Reinhart in the Netflix original rom-com Look Both Ways. The movie has a unique storyline which features parallel versions of Natalie’s (Reinhart) life. When she reaches a crossroads, she must choose the best path and the movie plays out both scenarios.

You can also see him with Natalia Dyer and Rachel Keller in the drama Chestnut, available on Prime Video, which follows a girl who becomes entangled in a relationship with a man and a woman the summer after she graduates from college. He stars with Keana Marie and Lydia Hearst in a thriller, Root Letter, which is available to stream on Tubi.
