Cory Wharton is putting his two cents in as Gary Shirley spills the tea on his daughter Leah’s wish to be adopted by stepmom Kristina, much to the chagrin of Leah’s mother Amber Portwood.
Gary Shirley recently dropped a bombshell on the July 18 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Gary revealed that his teenage daughter Leah, now 15, has her sights set on Kristina Shirley adopting her.
Teen Mom fans are still outraged by how Chelsea DeBoer treated someone close to her years later.
Gary couldn’t hide his pride as he told his co-stars, “Trust me, the best thing that ever happened to Leah was Kristina. Kristina is a loving parent and Leah’s wanting to be adopted by Kristina.”
Cory Says He’s Supporting Amber’s Ex Gary
Enter Cory Wharton, who’s throwing his support behind Gary. At The Children’s Heart Foundation’s Los Angeles Congenital Heart Walk, Cory, 33, offered his take on the drama. “Gary’s just being real with his guys,” Cory said. “When you’re with other dads, you feel comfortable sharing your story. He’s looking for some brotherly advice and support.”
Cory, who is busy balancing life with Mila, 4, and Maya, 2, with his partner Taylor Selfridge, and Ryder, 7, with ex Cheyenne Floyd, shared his thoughts on Leah’s plea.
“I just want Leah to be happy,” Cory said earnestly. “At this stage, it’s crucial for everyone to listen to what Leah wants because it’s all about the kid. Gary’s doing the right thing by focusing on her needs.”
Amber Doesn’t Have Custody Of Either Of Her Kids
Amber, who skyrocketed to fame on Teen Mom with her fiery personality and dramatic life choices, has had her fair share of controversies. From explosive relationships to legal troubles, Amber’s turbulent journey has been anything but dull.
The reality star’s rise to fame began on 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, where viewers watched her struggle with her relationship with Gary, her legal issues, and her mental health. Amber has had numerous run-ins with the law, including arrests for drug possession and domestic violence charges. These incidents have significantly impacted her ability to maintain stable custody of her children.
Moreover, Amber’s custody situation has been a rollercoaster. Despite being a prominent figure on reality TV, Amber has faced severe restrictions on her parental rights due to her past behavior (including her time in jail).
Amber also doesn’t have custody of her other child, James, son with Andrew Glennon, who was primarily placed in his father’s care following Amber’s struggles with substance abuse and multiple arrests, which raised serious concerns about her ability to provide a stable environment.
Farrah Abraham slams Harvard as a “joke,” calling out racial bias and educational abuse while venting frustrations online and via Yelp.
Cory’s support for Gary and Leah highlights the importance of prioritizing Leah’s emotional well-being amidst all the chaos. While Amber’s history and ongoing controversies have left her struggling to maintain a stable family environment, Cory’s comments remind us that, even in the messy world of reality TV, the kids’ happiness should always come first.
As this saga continues to unfold, fans are left watching the drama with bated breath. Will Leah’s wish for adoption be granted, or will Amber’s turbulent history continue to cast a shadow over her family? One thing’s for sure—the Teen Mom universe never fails to deliver the jaw-dropping twists and turns we crave!
