The announcement made Jenn, who is Vietnamese American, the first lead of Asian descent in The Bachelor’s 22-year history. “For me, growing up, I never really had Asian representation in the media. … And because of that, I really struggled with my identity in trying to figure out who I was and who I could become,” Jenn told USA Today prior to The Bachelorette Season 21 premiere. “To be able to be that role model that I was looking for when I was a kid, it really is surreal.”

The Bachelorette Season 21 spoilers
Jenn’s Bachelorette season started filming on March 26—the day after Joey’s Bachelor season finale—and finished filming on May 16. Filming lasted for around two months. Jenn told Glamour ahead of The Bachelorette Season 21 premiere that a twist occurs in her finale that even her family won’t expect. “The whole journey happened in a way that needed to happen, and I’m very happy with the way that things ended,” she said. “It’s definitely an ending that I didn’t see coming for myself. My family won’t see it coming, and I don’t think the viewers will see it coming too. I’m excited for it all to unfold.”
Jenn also teased the “shock” ending to her Bachelorette season in an interview with Parade. “The season ended in a way that I didn’t see for myself. It was definitely a bit of a shock,” she said, adding, “I’m very happy with the way everything played out and how things ended.”

The new Bachelor mansion
The Bachelorette Season 21 introduced a new Bachelor mansion. Instead of the usual mansion in Agoura Hills, California, Jenn’s season, including her limo entrances, were filmed at Hummingbird Nest Ranch, in Santa Susana, California. This was the location of the since-cancelled spinoff, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart. Season 21 also marks the first season since Season 18 that didn’t film at the Bachelor mansion
“I think what I’ve been trying to tell myself [is I’m the] first Asian Bachelorette, first PA student, we’re really breaking the mold this season,” Jenn told Entertainment Tonight ahead of The Bachelorette Season 21 premiere. “I feel like a new mansion is the perfect way to break the mold… I’m gonna bless it with some really good vibes.”
Sam M. got the First Impression Rose
Jenn gave her First Impression Rose to Sam McKinney, a 27-year-old Contractor from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Night One of The Bachelorette Season 21, according to Reality Steve. Sam wasn’t Jenn’s winner, according to Reality Steve.
The “Truth or Dare” night one drama
Reality Steve revealed in an episode of his podcast in July 2024 that there’s drama on Night One when the contestants play a game of “Truth or Dare” and one contestant’s behavior will “not sit well with a lot of the audience.” He also teased that the drama was “relevant to the season.”
Reality Steve later confirmed that the drama had to do with Devin Strader, a 28-year-old Freight Company Owner who is also Jenn’s winner on The Bachelorette Season 21. He claimed that, during Truth or Dare, Devin was asked to name a conspiracy theory that believed, to which he allegedly responds, “I believe 9/11 was an inside job.”
Reality Steve confirmed that Jenn was also present when Devin made the comment. He also confirmed that the moment won’t air in The Bachelorette Season 21, as Devin is Jenn’s winner.
Grant got the first Group Date Rose
Grant Ellis, a 30-year-old Day Trader from Newark, New Jersey, got the first Group Date Rose on The Bachelorette Season 21 after a comedy roast-themed date at the St. Kilda’s Sports Club in Melbourne, Australia, for the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
Dylan got the second Group Date Rose
Dylan Buckor, a 24-year-old Medical Student from Elk Grove, California, got the second Group Date Rose on The Bachelorette Season 21 after a zoo date in Melbourne, Australia.
Aaron self-eliminated
Aaron Erb, a 29-year-old Aerospace Engineer from Tulsa, Oklahoma, sent himself home in Week 3 of The Bachelorette Season 21 because he got called by the U.S. Air force, Reality Steve confirmed in June 2024. Aaron is also the twin brother of Bachelor Nation alum Noah Erb, who was a contestant on The Bachelorette Season 16 and Bachelor in Paradise Season 7.
“At some point after this group date, Aaron Erb eliminates himself because he’s called by flight school back home and basically has to leave now or apparently not have a chance of getting his pilots license. Heard he’s going to edited like a hero that he’s leaving the show to fly for our country,” Reality Steve wrote.
Jonathon won a stripping group date
Jonathon Johnson, a 27-year-old Creative Director from Kansas City, Missouri, won a stripping group date hosted by dancers from Thunder Down Under in Week 3 of The Bachelorette Season 21. The judges for the date were Jenn, and Becky and Ellie Miles, sisters and the leads of The Bachelorette Australia Season 6.
Sam N. took off his mic during a stripping group date
Sam Nejad, a 25-year-old Entrepreneur from Carlsbad, California, was the last contestant to perform during a stripping group date in Week 3 of The Bachelorette Season 21. He didn’t wear his costume and took off his mic before telling Jenn that he was falling in love with her, according to Reality Steve. He was one of two contestants to not strip down to his underwear on the date.
Jenn’s ex-boyfriend tries to join The Bachelorette Season 21
https://www.tiktok.com/embed.js
Jenn’s ex-boyfriend, TikTok content creator Matty Rossi, tried to join The Bachelorette Season 21 in Week 4 in Auckland, New Zealand, according to Reality Steve. Matty surprised Jenn before the fourth Rose Ceremony, which she declined and because she was too far into filming. The moment was shown in the preview for The Bachelorette Season 21, as Jenn asked producers why her ex-boyfriend was filming. 1 ended with a cliffhanger as Jenn was surprised by someone from her past who crashed her season. “What is going on? What is he doing here?” she said in the preview.
The preview continued with Jenn telling her cast about her run-in with her ex-boyfriend. “This morning, someone from my past flew all the way here. He wants to be with me, and he wants to join this journey,” she said.
Rossi confirmed that he and Jenn dated in a TikTok video in February 2024 while she appeared on The Bachelor Season 28 with Joey Graziadei. “POV: your ex goes on The Bachelor,” Rossi wrote on a TikTok video of him watching The Bachelor at home. He captioned the video, “Guess she got a type,” along with an Italian flag emoji, a reference to Joey’s Italian background.
In another video, Rossi confirmed Jenn was the ex he was referring to. “Alright, the rumors are true. My ex was on The Bachelor. Here’s a little storytime,” Rossi said before having his dog pretend to tell the story of his relationship.
“When I was still a twinkle in my dad’s eyes, he was a 24-year-old fuckboy living in Boston with his three best friends. This really weird thing called COVID had just come to an end…” the dog said. “Anyways, he was painfully single. Not too different than how he is now. So he decided to go on this app called Hinge, which he had never done so before because he was scared of Craigslist killers, and he found this really cute, sweet girl named Jenn. Totally out of his league. Somehow she gave him a chance, they hit it off and they started dating. Things started to heat up and got pretty serious, and Jenn was ready to settle down with her person, but my dad wasn’t there yet. He was still a fuckboy. Anyways, years pass, they stayed friends and now he’s using her for clout.”
Rossi ended the video by joking, “Alright, well there you have it. If you’re not Jenn, you can keep scrolling now. Yo, did you change your number? Why aren’t you answering my texts? Give me another shot.”
Jenn, for her part, also confirmed she dated Matty in a 2023 TikTok video in which she referred to her ex-boyfriend as “Wienerboy,” a reference to Matty’s wienerdog. In the video, Jenn revealed that she dated Matty three years prior when she moved to Boston after graduating from college in 2020.
She told her followers that she was “completely head over heels in love with him,” however, Matty dumped her after three months together. Reeling from the split, Jenn explained that the breakup pushed her to move away from Boston to enroll in PA school in Miami, Florida.
Austin self-eliminated
Austin Ott, a 28-year-old Sales Executive from Vista, California, sent himself home in Week 5 of The Bachelorette Season 21 during a group date, according to Reality Steve.
Daisy, Kelsey A., Charity and Trista were guests on a date
Daisy Kent (The Bachelor Season 28 runner-up); Kelsey Anderson (The Bachelor Season 28 winner); Charity Lawson (the Season 20 Bachelorette); and Trista Sutter (the Season 1 Bachelorette) were guests on a Jenn’s one-on-one date with Marcus Shoberg, a 31-year-old Army Ranger Veteran from Cloquet, Minnesota, in Week 6. The date was Wicked-themed where Marcus and Jenn walked a yellow brick road and chose their own adventures. Daisy, Kelsey A., Charity, and Trista were on different parts of their journey.
Jenn’s Hometown Dates
Jenn’s final four who received Hometown Dates on The Bachelorette Season 21 were Devin Strader, Marcus Schoberg, Jeremy Simon, and Jonathon Johnson.
Jeremy is from Fairfield, Connecticut, but now lives in New York, New York. Devin is from Rosenberg, Texas, but now lives in Houston, Texas. Marcus is from Tacoma, Washington, but now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jeremy, a 29-year-old Real Estate Investor, was sent home in fourth place in the rose ceremony after Hometown Dates.
Jenn’s Fantasy Suite Dates
Jenn’s final three who received Fantasy Suite Dates on The Bachelorette Season 21 were Devin Strader, Marcus Schoberg, and Jonathon Johnson. Jonathon, a 27-year-old Creative Director from Kansas City, Missouri, was sent home in third place in the rose ceremony after Fantasy Suite Dates. Before Fantasy Suites, Jenn talked to Molly Mesnick, the runner-up of The Bachelor Season 13 with Jason Mesnick, who is now her husband.
Jenn’s winner on The Bachelorette Season 21
Devin Strader, a 28-year-old Freight Company Owner from Rosenberg, Texas, is the winner of The Bachelorette Season 21. Jenn gave Devin her final rose at the Final Rose Ceremony in The Bachelorette Season 21 finale in Hawaii, which he accepted. Devin also proposed to Jenn and the two got engaged.
Jenn wore white dress for her Final Rose Ceremony, which was filmed at a house on the coast of Hawaii, according to Reality Steve. Jenn and Devin are still together as of writing this, according to Reality Steve. Jenn’s runner-up was Marcus Shoberg, a 31-year-old Army Ranger Veteran from Cloquet, Minnesota.

Jenn also seemingly confirmed she was engaged in an interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in June 2024, in which she defended herself against critics who didn’t want her as the Bachelorette. “People were like, ‘She’s too boring, or She’s too crazy, she wants to take shots,’” Jenn said. “It’s like, God forbid I want to take a shot! I didn’t know that once you get engaged, you can’t take a shot. Or once you find love, you can’t take a shot.” Jenn went on to correct herself to a more general “find love,” however, fans interpreted her comment as confirmation that she got engaged.
Jenn also revealed in an interview with Season 11 Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe before Season 21 premiered that she had an unexpected ending that’s “never happened” in the franchise. “I think I’m also being told that the ending of my season is also something that has never happened before,” she said.
Because Season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei and his winner, Kelsey Anderson, spoiled their finale with videos from a happy couple visit—a secret date set up by producers for the lead and their winner—Reality Steve believed that the franchise will no longer allow Jenn and other leads to post from their happy couple visits. “I don’t think they’re going to allow them to post from happy couple visits,” Reality Steve said. “I’d be shocked if they did, but if they do, they’ll be caught.”
For Jenn’s engagement, it’s almost certain the ring was designed by Neil Lane, a celebrity jeweler, who has created engagement rings for The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise since 2008. In a 2016 interview with Entertainment Weekly, former host Chris Harrison revealed that Bachelor Nation couples have to stay together for a certain amount of time, otherwise they have to return the free engagement ring to Neil Lane. “There’s some rule, after a certain number of years, you get to keep it anyway,” he said. “But after months… it goes back.”
Lane told StyleCaster in 2016 that he doesn’t know where the rings go, but that he designs them with the hope that the couple stays together. “I make rings hoping that people stay together forever, but after they get the ring, I don’t have a say in it, and what happens after that, I don’t know,” he said. “Where the ring goes, I have to say, I don’t really know. I just say it goes to ring heaven.”
