The Bachelorette season 21 star Jenn Tran admitted that contestant Aaron Erb’s pearl necklace, which he wore during the show, gave her the ick. Aaron was at the center of a lot of drama on the show when he clashed with his fellow contestant Devin Strader. Aaron took issue with Devin dominating Jenn’s time, and decided to give him a self-help book, which was very similar to one that his twin brother, Noah Erb, received from Bennett Jordan during The Bachelorette season 16. Aaron eventually self-eliminated from The Bachelorette season 21 in order to go to flight training.
“I feel bad if I say it. I’m just gonna say … pearl necklace … very interesting choice.”
In an interview with Nick Viall and Natalie Joy on The Viall Files podcast, Nick asked Jenn if any of the men gave her an ick. She replied, “I feel bad if I say it. I’m just gonna say … pearl necklace … very interesting choice.”
Natalie said that maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if a girl Aaron babysat for made the necklace for him, while Nick joked that maybe it was from his grandma. Jenn responded, “Oh that would be cute … Maybe I should have asked questions instead of judging. My bad.”Nick then insisted, “It’s definitely not his grandma’s.“
Jenn Tran Admits Aaron Erb Wasted Her Time On The Bachelorette
Aaron Self-Eliminated After Causing Drama
Nick then told Jenn that he felt that Aaron wasted her time and owes her an apology. He argued that Aaron knew that he’d leave for flight training. Nick added that Aaron “brought a prop,” which was his book, instead of investing his time in getting to know Jenn. Aaron also tried to get into Jenn’s head by questioning the other men’s intentions. Jenn replied, “Yeah. I don’t disagree.” While Jenn said that she was “so happy for him” about flight training, she added, “The whole book thing … I wouldn’t have thought anything of it if it hadn’t been done already by his brother.“
While Aaron’s pearl necklace might’ve been a turn-off for Jenn, Nick is right that his behavior on the show was unacceptable. His outrage about Devin was so over-the-top that it seemed as though he might be a producer plant who was only added to the show to create drama. The fact that he had a prior connection to The Bachelorette through Noah, and then self-eliminated to go to a flight training program that he applied to before the show, only adds to this suspicion. In addition, the book that Aaron gave to Devin doesn’t appear to exist in real life.
To make matters worse, on his way out, Aaron declared to Jenn that some of the men weren’t ready to get engaged and weren’t there for the right reasons, but refused to give her their names. Jenn told her that his behavior was disingenuous and cruel, but he still wouldn’t tell her. This created even more drama on the show as Jenn addressed her group of men and told them to leave if they weren’t there for the right reasons. Nick is right that Aaron owes Jenn an apology for how he acted on The Bachelorette season 21.
