Seattle’s former starting safeties have landed on the same team.
Former Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs has finally found his new team, and he’ll have a familiar teammate alongside him this preseason.
Having already added Jamal Adams last month, the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with Diggs, reuniting the two former Seahawks starters together in Nashville. The source is NFL insider Quandre Diggs.
Long awaited news..
5X All Pro Dad & 3x Pro Bowler @qdiggs6 has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on a 1 year deal!#TitanUp— Nino (@qdiggs6) August 4, 2024
It was reported in mid-July by Titans beat reporter Paul Kuharsky that Tennessee “explored” signing Diggs, and now they’ve actually done it. In his introductory media session, Adams indicated he hoped the Titans would sign Diggs, and that they communicate everyday.
Diggs played five seasons in Seattle after he was acquired via fleecing trade from the Detroit Lions. He quickly became one of the most important players on the Seahawks defense, and was given a new contract even after suffering a broken fibula in the 2021 finale against (who else?) the Arizona Cardinals.
Unfortunately, as the Seahawks defense collectively struggled, Diggs drew the ire of fans for missed tackles and some of the explosive plays allowed against both the run and pass. With a year remaining on his contract, the Seahawks cut Diggs (as well as Adams) in March.
