Seemingly every quarterback with NFL aspirations wants to emulate Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, but Nebraska five-star freshman Dylan Raiola took things to a different level.
Showing up to Cornhuskers training camp this week, Raiola was sporting a look eerily similar to the two-time NFL MVP including the curly hair, the facial hair under the chin and even the Patrick Mahomes II Signature Series sunglasses he was wearing.
Raiola’s appearance caused quite the stir on social media, even catching the attention of Miami Dolphins receiver and Mahomes’ former teammate Tyreek Hill.
Mahomes even saw the photos of Raiola going viral, seemingly giving his seal of approval to the 19-year-old true freshman.
The similarities between Mahomes and Raiola don’t just stop at their appearance.
The freshman QB has worked out a few times with Bobby Stroupe, who’s trained Mahomes since he was in elementary school, and he also wears the same No. 15 jersey as the three-time Super Bowl champion.
Raiola, the No. 2-ranked QB and No. 7-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class per 247Sports, is expected to compete with 2023 starter Heinrich Haarberg and sophomore Luke Longval for Nebraska’s starting QB job this offseason.
He threw for 2,666 yards, 34 touchdowns and just one interception during his senior season at Buford High School in Georgia.
