Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor is looking to step up in the 2024 season. Outside of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, they will need a reliable third wide receiver somewhere. Nailor was a sixth-round pick (191st overall selection) in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Michigan State.
A season ago, he only caught three passes for 29 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. Nailor averaged 9.7 yards per reception. Some other wide receivers on the Vikings roster also will need to step up this season because they can’t be Jefferson and Addison-reliant.
Nailor on the Vikings’ depth chart is projected to be one of the starting wide receivers alongside Jefferson and Addison. A lot can change between now and Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season where they face the New York Giants on the road. For now, the Vikings starting quarterback for this season will be veteran Sam Darnold.
Alec Lewis Of The Athletic Thinks That Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver Jalen Nailor’s Stock Has Gone Up in Training Camp
Vikings beat writer Alec Lewis of The Athletic thinks wide receiver Jalen Nailor’s stock has gone up in camp. He also listed some other players on the roster whose stock has gone up and whose stock has gone down. Lewis said:
“Don’t take it from me, take it from superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson. When asked about Nailor this weekend, Jefferson said, “He’s balling. I’m very proud of him.” Nailor, a sixth-round pick in 2022, has missed ample time due to injuries (concussion, hamstring, leg, etc.). This is the longest he’s been healthy, and he hasn’t disappointed. In 11 personnel groupings at practice, he has been the primary No. 3 receiver. As long as he stays healthy and the Vikings don’t add an external receiver, the job feels like it’s his to lose.”
The Vikings will face the Las Vegas Raiders in a preseason game on August, 10. It will be interesting to see who will perform well and who will take a step back for Minnesota. Jefferson and Addison will most likely not see the field for the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason.
Jalen Nailor will get a chance to prove himself in preseason games for this football team. They will need someone to rely upon in the passing game other than the top wide receivers. Tight end T.J. Hockenson is someone who is also going to be a force in this passing game. Jalen Nailor is 25 years old. He is trying to beat out Brandon Powell, Trent Sheffield Sr., and Trishton Jackson for that third receiver spot on the roster also.
