Caleb Williams officially became a member of the Chicago Bears a couple of weeks ago when the 22-year-old put pen to paper on a four-year, fully guaranteed rookie contract worth $39.5 million. This also came with a pretty hefty signing bonus — one that received the full approval of Williams’ new teammates in Chicago.
Chicago Bears React to Caleb Williams’ Massive Signing Bonus
HBO recently dropped a new trailer for the Bears’ Hard Knocks series, which, unsurprisingly, featured the team’s new quarterback of the future. In the brief clip, Williams announced during a team gathering that he had earned himself a whopping $25.5 million signing bonus with his new deal.

As expected, the room burst into cheers as the team learned just how much money the rookie is going to pocket.
The best part of the clip is probably undrafted QB Tyson Bagnet faking a seizure the moment he realized the disparity between his paycheck and that of Williams’.
For what it’s worth, Bagnet signed a three-year deal with Chicago in 2023 worth $2.72 million. That’s roughly one-tenth of Williams’ signing bonus.
Unfortunately for the fans, Williams did not take the field on Thursday in the Bears’ Hall of Fame game against the Houston Texans. Then again, Williams’ absence was not a surprise either.
With Bagnet taking Williams’ place under center, Chicago would go on to defeat the Texans, 21-17, in a game that was called off with 3:31 left in the third quarter due to lightning and heavy rain.
Nevertheless, supporters were treated to a first look at Williams in full uniform.

I’m personally not a Chicago fan but even I am hyped to see the former USC superstar decked out in full Bears gear. The new season can’t come soon enough.
