New All Lions podcast examines if the new Lions uniform design will be accepted by fans.
The Detroit Lions new uniform reveal is just one day away.
Supporters of the Lions have been spending time online dissecting potential leaks and debating what color combinations would be the most appealing.
All Lions writer Christian Booher joined the podcast this week to share his thoughts regarding the team finally revealing the new uniform at Ford Field during an event for season-ticket members.
“You do want them to look cool, right? But at the end of the day, the intrigue will be at its highest when they come out, and then eventually they’ll just become the uniforms,” said Booher. “But with that said, it is super exciting because it’s a new look for a team that is starting to hit its stride a little bit. And now these uniforms are going to be associated with whatever happens on the field the next couple of years.
“You want to talk about uniforms, think about the Detroit Red Wings and what happened when they threw that patch on the uniforms,” Booher continued. “So with the Lions, really, I’m looking for kind of a throwback look. Those 90s uniforms that they had were super clean. A very simple design. Again, I’m not crazy about the all the bells and whistles, but just a simple design that it’s aesthetically pleasing works.”
The latest All Lions “Bang The Table” podcast explores which jersey fans should purchase after the reveal, examines the challenges general manager Brad Holmes will have once the salaries of top players start to drastically elevate and targets which draft prospects could be available for the Lions at No. 29.
