Zach Wilson and Adam Gase join forces to create ultimate NY Jets nightmare

Zach Wilson is one of the worst quarterbacks in modern NFL history. Adam Gase is one of the worst head coaches in modern NFL history. Unfortunately, NY Jets fans have been subject to at least one of those two individuals being under contract with their favorite team for the last six years.

Zach Wilson

Gase was fired following the 2020 season and replaced by Robert Saleh while Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos this past offseason. Now, the two might be joining forces in Denver…at least temporarily.

Gase, a Broncos’ former offensive coordinator, was spotted at training camp in Denver on Wednesday, meaning that two of the Jets’ most notable nightmares from this century have now officially crossed paths.

Gase never had the opportunity to coach Wilson with the Jets, but even if only for a couple of days, the two maligned former Jets have teamed up in Denver. What a world.

Zach Wilson and Adam Gase have teamed up at Broncos training camp
This actually marks the second Broncos training camp practice that Gase has attended within the last week. The ex-NFL head coach was present for the team’s practice last Friday as well. There might be a reason for that.

Gase’s father-in-law is Broncos senior defensive assistant Joe Vitt. Vitt previously worked with the Jets as the team’s outside linebackers coach under Gase in 2019 and 2020. Perhaps Vitt is trying to return the favor and help Gase get a job now.

Gase hasn’t worked in football since he was let go by the Jets prior to the 2021 season. There were rumors that he was being considered for the Alabama offensive coordinator job a few years back, but nothing ever came of them.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton has spoken highly of his relationship with Gase in the past, and given the latter’s family ties within the organization, it’s quite possible Denver will decide to bring him on as a coach in some capacity.

Just the thought of Adam Gase helping coach a Zach Wilson-led offense is enough to send shivers down the spines of Jets fans who were tormented by both individuals over the last half-decade.

Fortunately for Broncos fans, Wilson appears to be a distant third in the Broncos’ quarterback race, with the former second-overall pick lagging well behind rookie Bo Nix and veteran journeyman Jarrett Stidham.

Now, let’s hope they stay far away from Gase too — for their sake. Jets fans will be very happy to put the nightmares of Gase and Wilson behind them this season.
